長編伝奇小説 南総里見八犬伝（作者：曲亭馬琴　文化11年に完結の小説で江戸時代戯作文芸の代表作）をアレンジした漫画小説シリーズ。

江戸中期から後期にかけて作られたとされており、＜日本の漫画文化の原点＞と言っても過言ではない。

STORY

南総里見八犬伝とは・・・

八犬士と呼ばれる８人の若者たちを主人公とした、室町後期が舞台の物語り。

それぞれ別々の地に散らばった、仁(JIN)・義(GI)・礼(REI)・智(CHI)・忠(CHU)・信(SHIN)・孝(KOU)・悌(TEI)の玉をもつ８人の犬士が集結し、彼らが誕生するきっかけとなった里見家勃興のために戦うお話。

この巻には、八犬士の一人、犬田小文吾（Inuta Kobungo）が登場。

悌(TEI)の玉を持つ八犬士であり、猪を素手で倒し、猛牛を取り押さえることができる。巨漢で、相撲を得意とした彼は、お尻に牡丹の痣(あざ)がある。

注釈：八犬士には共通する３つのことがある。

①名前に『犬』の字がある

②文字の刻まれた玉をもつ

③身体のどこかに牡丹の痣がある

This is probably the origin of Japanese manga.

STORY

What is Nansou Sosatomi Hakkenden?

The story is set in the late Muromachi period with eight young people called Hakken-shi as the main characters. ※Hakken-shi is Eight Samurai.

The story is about Hakken-shi with the balls of Jin, GI, Rei, Chi, Chu, Shin, Kou, and Tei, who are scattered in different places, and fight for the rise of the Satomi family, which was the trigger for their birth.

This volume features one of the Hakken-shi, Inuta Kobungo.

He is an one of Hakken-shi with a TEI ball and can defeat boars with his bare hands and hold down bulls. He was a giant and was good at sumo wrestling, and he had peony bruises on his buttocks.

Note: There are three things that Hakken-shi have in common.

(1) There is a word "dog" in the name.

(2) Holding a ball engraved with letters

(3) There is a peony bruise somewhere on the body
